My new blog: classical readings

Well, I've started a new blog (inspired by Vince Calegon's classics blog). However, I don't expect it will be as scholarly to start with as I try to reestablish some scholarly reading.

So what's the programme? Five-fold:
1) Revisiting Greek and Latin grammar in a more active style;
2) Composition in the classical languages, ideally culminating in scholarly writing on these languages;
3) A programme of reading Classical texts, both Greek and Latin, in the context of ancient commentaries and scholia;
4) Production of a number of blog-posts or papers devoted to topics dependent on this reading.
5) The development of courses in the Classics.

So, it's ambitious. So I am finally going to bite the bullet and begin reading Cicero, beginning with De Re Publica and looking at Macrobius' Commentarii in somnium Scipionis. Waiting for the Cambridge Green and Yellow to arrive!
